Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to join our team. This individual will own the PnL for one or more Wasoko city markets, overseeing a team of functional leaders who are responsible for achieving department-specific as well as market-wide goals.

The ideal candidate will be someone with the ability to lead a diverse team spanning several areas from Sales to Supply Chain, manage individuals and teams against performance targets and solve problems both externally and internally, always keeping the customer top of mind.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own PnL you are responsible for overall market operations and performance targets
  • Identify growth challenges & partner with functional leaders on solutions
  • Drive efficiency across and within departments
  • Manage day-to-day operational and financial performance to ensure ROI maximization
  • Provide functional leads with relevant local insights to inform commercial strategies
  • Ensure functional strategies are appropriately localized to succeed in market
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, competition, and market dynamics to inform operational decision making


  • 5+ years of managerial experience and working with cross functional teams
  • Understanding of General Trade Retail operations and experience in serving the segment
  • Demonstrated success leading & motivating high-performing and cross functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills that demonstrates high EQ
  • Strong organizational skills and a knack for problem-solving
  • Proven ability to hold teams accountable and achieve aggressive goals
  • Availability to travel up to 35% of the time
  • BSc degree in Sales, Business Administration or relevant field
